On this unique adventure from Tucson, we’ll travel north to historic Grand Canyon Lodge for four nights in cozy Western Cabins on the beautiful North Rim. The scenic Lodge, the oldest public dwelling at the Canyon, features a gourmet restaurant, snack bar, saloon, gift shop, lecture hall, and visitor center. On the Lodge rim terrace, there are ranger talks every afternoon. At the nearby (walking distance) campground amphitheater, there is also a ranger presentation every night. We’ll visit overlooks for awesome sunrise and sunset colors and do some short walks on the many North Rim trails. We will also drive to Toroweap Point, the most spectacular view site in the entire Grand Canyon. On another day, we’ll travel west to visit Pipe Spring National Monument with its visitor center and museum and a guided tour of Winsor Castle, a small fortress built by Mormon pioneers in the 1870’s. For one night, we will have a hearty Grand Canyon Lodge cookout dinner with live entertainment (beef or chicken; included in tour fee). En-route, it will be a stop at the extensive Cameron Trading Post, a stop at Lee's Ferry, and a visit to Navajo Bridge for views of the Colorado River and a search for the frequent condors sunning on the canyon ledges. On the rim, daytime high temperatures will be in low 80’s, early mornings in the low 50’s. Tour departs at 6:30 AM on Wednesday from Tucson International Airport Park & Save Remote Parking Lot at S. Tucson Boulevard and E. Corona Road where vehicles can be safely parked for $4 per day. We will return to the same TIA location by 6:00 PM on Sunday. Limited to 8 participants. FEE POLICY: Full payment is due on registration (or when requested). To register, send check (payable to Stephen H. Buck) to Stephen H. Buck, P.O. Box 64986, Tucson, AZ 85728-4986. Your check will not be deposited until it is certain that the tour is a GO. If the tour does not go, your uncashed check will be returned to you. Your check is your receipt for payment. If you cancel out 30 days or more before the tour, you will be charged a $100 administrative fee. If you cancel out less than 30 days before the tour, you will forfeit 50% of the full tour fee or $100 (whichever is greater) unless we can find a replacement. If we find such replacement, you will receive a 100% refund. You will receive a 100% fee refund if the tour is cancelled by TyrannoTours.
